Looking at the pictures in the shop I see that you have used round bases on the larger figures. Do the games require specific sizes or what just looks right? I am wondering specifically about these 40mm ones from Foundations of War and only having Luftles at the moment unsure if these are too big or small: Also available in 25mm from hereAndrew

They look pretty sweet don't they! In the game I've set specific base sizes (30mm round for Occulites, 20-25mm round for Luftles) but that is mainly to give some sort of common ground to everyone's basing. It is also dependant on the table size you are playing on. If you play on a larger size table, then having Occulites on a 40mm round and Luftles on a 25mm round is no problem. If you are wanting to play on the smaller table, then it might get a bit cramped - especially on 2x2' tables. So, to sum up Andrew, the basing is really just a guide. As long as its consistent within your tribe and the tribes you play against, its fine mate. Cheers, Ben.

See, now I'm all torn. Initially, I was going to base them on the bevelled plastic bases that I use for most of the rest of my projects. Then I got the luftles and palaudis and decided not to base the big ones at all. Then I realized the Luftles needed a base, so I got big washers for the big guys and smaller ones for the Luftles, like Ben did. Then the Hydris and Floris arrived, and both tribes have one member that is too big for the washers. So now I'm back at square one. Do I get 50mm washers for the big guys, and leave the luftles on their 20mm ones? Do I just not base the bigger tribes? I'm a bit OCD though, and would like them all to look at least marginally the same. Big bases will let me play more with foliage and the like. I do so love a good base...

I think the biggest Floris and the biggest Hydris should fit on 40mm bases ok. When Kosta painted mine, the base was trimmed slightly and the actual base itself was left elliptical instead of perfect circle. Either way is cool, but 50mm washers may be too big I think. 40mm will be big enough (and provides a few mm spare around the edge)
